INSPIRATION: SAMUJI PRE-FALL 2015

My friend Omar first introduced me to Samuji not so long ago and even though I really liked it, this collection is where I fall in love. As simple as it gets, mixing a pale shy young woman with masculine accents it is all us lovers of the simple and sophisticated could ask for with a real down to earth vibe. I love when the presentation of clothes is as real as the pieces itself, because this is how we would actually wear them, easy and simple, a fresh air to fall’s often overdone accents such as fur, knee high boots and the like.

Today’s inspiration comes from another Pre-Fall collection: Sally La Pointe. I fell in love the moment I first saw it scrolling on Pinterest. I fell in love with the minimal aesthetic not only of the clothes but the background as well (when the background does not match the clothes I usually don’t value the final product as much). I love how wearable, relaxed, and versatile the garments on this collection are. The thing is I can’t help but find big, big and I mean HUGE The Row inspiration here. It could be a good thing because well The Row is like the mother of all contemporary luxury labels trying to do or doing minimalism but even so I think this is too much. As much as I love the clothes I wish it would have a little more identity. Because honestly at first glance I did think it was something like The Row Pre-Fall 2012 or some previous collection I missed, which is weird because I can identify all The Row collections from the early days so as I say it has it’s good and bad. Maybe I am an awful strict critic but this are my two cents. What do you think?

INSPIRATON: CO PRE FALL 2015

Co_05_1366Co_17_1366Co_04_1366Co_16_1366Co_13_1366I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! I sure did it was just fantastic to disconnect a little bit and relax.

Pre-fall collections are popping up as we speak, and I am in love with so many of them! Of course minimalism is a trend now and unfortunately it does not make any designer (or person) following it currently be actually a firm believer or trusted ambassador of what in my opinion is more than a trend, always has been more than that, it is a way of life. Like my friend Omar says, wait and see what happens when the trend is over, or just wait a few more seasons all those people and designers won’t be able to contain their true self excessive and overdone origins and they’ll be back to where they were a year or two ago. I couldn’t agree more. It’s sad because it is amazing to like a big number of collections/designer/houses but when there is no real message behind it, behind the brand, it becomes empty and meaningless and that is not what fashion really is. I am a person who will buy the message, the principles behind a brand more that just an item, to me it means purchasing a whole manifesto, so these things are so big of a deal in my eyes.

This collection by Los Angeles based label; Co is breathtaking beautiful. I love the nun-ish vibes mixed with an everyday fresh office girl look. I really feel I could wear all of the looks here in fact I would love to. I wanted to start showcasing pre-fall looks with this particular brand because it is a underrated one that has been showing a soft sexy minimal woman since it’s first day and it’s so worth exploring.

MARGARET HOWELL SPRING SUMMER 2015 EARLY SEASON

Trini | Margaret Howell Spring Summer 2015 Pre-CollectionMargaret Howell Spring Summer 2015 Pre-CollectionMargaret Howell Spring Summer 2015 Pre-Collection

Margaret Howell’s Spring Summer 2015 early season has arrived! As the biggest fan I of course was very intrigued to see the first pieces. Some designers don’t do Resort and Pre-Fall so releasing early pieces of the Spring Summer collection is their way of introducing us to what is about to come.

I am in love with this small preview, it is all very classic, casual with unexpected touches as the color block sandals or the mint green skirt. I have always loved this color, but more from afar than actually making it a sure part of my closet. So it has me wondering how I could pull it off. I honestly love how it is combined here, so I might just give it a try.

What do you think?
