Escogí estas fotos para hoy porque me inspiran tremendamente, irradian paz. Que puedo decir de los abrigos, son todo lo que podría desear para el invierno me dan ganas de irme unos días al campo y pasearme tan a gusto con ellos.
Whenever someone relevant dies you see the internet, majorly Instagram filled with pictures and RIP messages for the deceased. I never feel the need to engage in those acts because even though it is sad, it has nothing to do with me. This Monday though when I heard about Oscar de la Renta’s death I was so shocked. I will always admire creators of true elegance and he is a great example. It is a terrible loss for the fashion world and for those of us who admired his work.
I read a super interesting article about him today in The New York Times that I feel I should share with you. I specially loved this part:
“At a time when consistency is often undervalued in favor of change, when designers take on houses and toss the heritage they find out the window, and private equity thinks of brands in five-year terms, Mr. de la Renta’s life stands as an alternative: a case study for what he learned in his garden.”

Siempre que alguien relevante muere se puede observar en internet, sobre todo en Instagram fotos y mensajes sobre la persona fallecida. Personalmente nunca siento la necesidad de participar en ese tipo de comportamiento, es triste sí, pero no tiene nada que ver conmigo. Sin embargo este lunes cuando me enteré de la muerte de Oscar de la Renta sentí una tristeza profunda. Siempre admiraré a creadores y promotores de la auténtica elegancia y el es un gran ejemplo.
Leí un artículo sobre el en el New York Times que quiero compartir con vosotros, en especial destaco este párrafo:
“En tiempos cuando la consistencia es infravalorada en favor al cambio, cuando los diseñadores que suceden las grandes casas de moda tiran por la venta la herencia que reciben y cuando el valor de las marcas se mide en un periodo de cinco años, la vida del señor De La Renta se alza como una alternativa: un caso de estudio como lo que aprendió en su jardín.”

I don’t think I need to explain how much in love I am with this collection. It is all I could dream of and more. The color palette: perfect. The prints: subtle. The cuts: comfortable. Footwear: timeless. There is not much more to say, this collection actually works for a day to day real winter situation and it definitely shows a confident woman that does not need loud colors and high heels to look beautiful.

No creo que necesite explicar el nivel de adoración que siento por esta colección. Es todo lo que podría soñar y mas. La paleta de colores: perfecta. Los estampados: sutiles. Los cortes: cómodos. El calzado: atemporal. Solo añadiré que esta colección claramente funciona para el día a día de una situación real de invierno y definitivamente apunta a una mujer segura, sin necesidad de usar colores fuertes o tacones altos, etc.

Besides the wigs on the models, I am in love with everything in this collection. It is very feminine, grannish and childish at the same time, all characteristics I am drawn to in fashion. Remember how a couple of days ago I was telling you how big a fan I am of midi skirts? Well this collection focuses on mid length. Part of the coolness it exudes is because of how relaxed and comfortable this length really is, and it makes models look serene and happy while wearing the clothes that by themselves give the same feeling, you don’t even need to see them worn to get the comfortable and relaxed vibes. That doesn’t mean they are boring, they are all much more interesting because of the exact fact that they are not pretentious, more like a wear me instead of i’ll wear you (think Moschino last couple of collections).
Now Comme des Garçons is always under the radar no matter how awesome their collection and I think this is because this clothes are not for every woman. In theory yes, I am sure they intended for everyone to wear it, but not every woman want’s to go this road and wear these clothes. You have to be very sure of yourself and confident and careless to be in flowy midi skirts, WITH flats and socks, AND long sleeves AND blazers, all combined together.

Con la excepción de las pelucas que llevan estas modelos, estoy completamente enamorada de esta colección. Es muy femenina, infantil con un toque de abuela, todas características que me llaman la atención en la ropa. Os acordáis como hace un par de días escribía sobre las faldas midi? Pues bien esta colección se centra en ese largo. Parte de lo espectacular que es se debe a la comodidad y sensación de relax que este largo simboliza, lo que hace que las modelos a su vez parezcan felices y serenas usando estas prendas que por si solas, no hace falta verlas puestas emanan relajación y comodidad. Esto no significa que sean aburridas para nada, al contrario esto hace que esta colección sea mucho mas interesante por el hecho de que no es pretenciosa, es un llévame en vez de yo te llevo a ti (véase las últimas dos colecciones de Moschino).
Comme des Garçons considero que es de esas firmas cuyas colecciones suelen pasar bastante desapercibidas no importa lo fantásticas que sean, la verdad no suelen darles relevancia y creo que esto se debe simplemente a que su ropa no esta pensada para cualquier mujer. En teoría si, me imagino que la intención si es que lo llevase el mayor número de mujeres posible, pero esto no funciona porque no todas las mujeres quieren tomar ese camino, hay que ser una mujer muy segura y muy despreocupada para llevar una falda ancha a media pantorrilla con zapatos planos de cordones, con calcetines, con camisa ancha de manga larga y blazer ancho, todo combinado.
