My new sandals, the timeless classic Hermes Oran sandals.
I remember when I first saw this sandals around ten years ago worn by Ashley Olsen, and I thought hmmm they look quite interesting. They kept popping everywhere after that and really I always loved them but never really went for them, I don’t know why. This summer finally after taking a look at my sandal collection I decided I really needed a black summer slide that was a little more dressier than my classic Birkenstocks. This will be the only sandals I purchase this summer, so they better be the best and most versatile I can find, and of course these are it.

Recuerdo cuando me fijé en ellas por primera vez, hará unos diez años en una foto que de Ashley Olsen y la verdad me parecieron un diseño interesante. Con el paso de los años, este diseño tan clásico se ha visto cada vez mas y siempre he querido un par para mi, pero por una cosa u otra al final acababa por no comprarlas hasta que por fin este verano decidí que las necesitaba. Observando mi colección de sandalias me fue evidente que necesitaba un par un poco mas formal que mis clásicas Birkenstock y como ya que solo tengo la intención de comprar un par de sandalias que cada verano mas vale que sean unas buenas y lo más versátiles posibles. No se me ocurren otras mas perfectas que estas.

The newest addition to the bag family, Céline luggage micro in black and white.
To be honest I had never thought I would end up with a Céline luggage, from all the bags from this brand it was the one that least appealed to me for one main reason: even though it is a beautiful bag since it first came out it evolved from being a beautiful minimalist, classic design worn by a few fashion conscious people to a massive item owned by everyone and their mother and associated with celebrities and personalities that have a way of wearing fashion in a tacky, anti-elegant way. This sort of lowered the bag’s value in my eyes (same as with LV’s monogram).
Years and years have gone by and I have focused on other handbags until my recent trip to Milan a few months ago. I saw this bag at 10 Corso Como while taking a look at Céline’s latest collection. I was trying on bags just for the fun of it, so I tried this one and magically right there what I thought would never happened, in fact did become true: I fell madly in love with the bag. I was wearing an all black ensemble with white sneakers and the bag just complemented it in a way that I had never thought possible. I had forgotten that items by themselves can never be ugly, or tacky or pretty or anything at all it is the way we wear them that makes the difference.
After this experience, this bag made the top of my wishlist for months until I could finally locate it and buy it. Since it is a seasonal color combination I was afraid it would sell out but it didn’t and I was lucky to grab mine, here in Madrid.

El nuevo integrante en la familia de los bolsos, el modelo luggage en tamaño micro de Céline.
La verdad jamás me hubiese pensando que acabaría con este bolso, de todos los modelos de Céline es el que menos me atraía. Aunque en sus comienzos si que me llamaba la atención este diseño con el paso del tiempo me pareció nada deseable ya que dejaba de ser un diseño limpio y exclusivo sino mas bien pasaba a ser masivo y lo asociaba a personas cuya estética y estilo personal me parecen vulgares.
Hace unos meses cuando estuve en Milán en la tienda 10 Corso Como en el corner de Céline me tope con este bolso de casualidad, estuve probándome todos los bolsos de la marca habidos y por haber hasta llegue a este. Ya de entrada me pareció una combinación de colores perfecta, pero cuando me lo probé fue magia, me enamoré perdidamente de él. Llevaba un conjunto 100% negro con zapatillas blancas y la forma en que complementaba mi conjunto era fabulosa. Desde entonces este bolso se volvió mi prioridad máxima en la lista de cosas por comprar y unos cuantos meses después por fin pude adquirirlo aquí en Madrid.
Fue una suerte ya que esta combinación de colores es de temporada y no un clásico con lo cual pasado un tiempo ya no es posible encontrarlo.

This was one of those items that has been in my wishlist for ever. Unfortunately it is one of those items you can’t find in Madrid. We are lucky enough to have a tiny corner of Céline in Madrid but only with bags and sunglasses, so everything footwear and clothing has to be bought abroad. Lucky for me my boyfriend travels a lot for work so he was kind enough to bring these babies home from Italy.
I have only worn them once since then (previous outfit picture) so I can’t give you a full review on how they endure time, what I can say though is they run true to size (unlike the rest of Céline shoes that run big) and they are a little hard to break in, but in my experience most good shoes are.

Estas zapatillas son unas de esas cosas que llevan en mi lista de deseos desde siempre, pero también es de esas cosas que es imposible de encontrar en Madrid. En esta ciudad por suerte tenemos un corner (pequeñísimo) de Céline, el problema es que solo venden bolsos y gafas, para quien busque ropa o zapatos debe comprar fuera. Por suerte mi novio viaja bastante por temas de trabajo así que aproveche uno de sus viajes para encargarle mis zapatillas.
Como es una compra reciente solo las he usado una vez (fotos en el conjunto de ayer) así que no os puedo hacer una crítica detallada, lo que si os puedo contar para quien este interesada en ellas es que son un tanto duras al comienzo. Creo que necesitan un par de usos mas para amoldarse bien al pie, pero que buen zapato no lo necesita?
