Edie Sedgwick was one of the first women to ever inspire me and I can’t believe I never posted abut her! I don’t know how I first got to discover her but I was really young, and instantly I loved her style. Her pixie haircut, her staple black tights, and striped everything together with her heavy eyeliner makes her one of the most iconic icons in my opinion. Most certainly she is the responsible for black tights worn with dresses and skirts, since before her, it was mostly sheer tights or bare legs.

I was so thrilled when in 2006 “Factory Girl” a movie about her life starring Sienna Miller was released. It’s a great source of inspiration too, you can see how they recreate most of her outfits and show her evolution and self destruction, but even if the story of her life is short and sad, fashion wise its amazing.

Edie Sedgwick fue una de las primeras en inspirarme y no puedo creer que aun no había escrito sobre ella! No recuerdo como fue que llegue a descubrirle pero fue siendo una adolescente e inmediatamente me enamoró su estilo. Su corte de pelo estilo pixie, sus iconicas medias negras y todo a rayas con su delineador muy marcado le hacen a mi parecer una de las mas destacadas iconos de la moda. Casi seguro se le puede atribuir a ella que hoy en día usemos medias negras para vestir, con vestidos o faldas, antes de Edie solo se llevaban medias transparentes o nada en absoluto.

Cuando sacaron Factory Girl me volví loca de alegría, para los que no estéis familiarizados es una película sobre su vida protagonizada por Sienna Miller. Es una gran fuente de inspiración, podéis ver como recrean la mayoría de sus conjuntos a la perfección y muestran la evolución de su autodestrucción. Aunque su vida fuese corta y un poco triste, en términos de moda, fue espectacular.
