Friday inspiration comes from Steven Alan latest collection. It is really simple and down to earth but that has always been the labels main characteristics. For this particular season the shapes are really wide and I’m digging that. It feels so cozy to be in wide clothes in winter so this is definitely thumbs up. What do you think like it or not? I do, I am totally pursuing this collection next season.

La inspiración de hoy es una selección de mis conjuntos favoritos de la última colección de Steven Alan. Es bastante simple y usable pero estas son características que llevan definiendo la marca desde siempre. Para esta temporada en particular el punto central son las formas anchas y realmente me gusta. En invierno ir en ropas anchas es de lo más confortable, así que para mi gana puntos a favor por esto. Os gusta o no? A mi en general me encanta y sin duda voy a intentar hacerme con algo la temporada que viene.
So this is basically what happens when you are in early spring stages and travel to early fall, you still have that cold fear factor you carry from winter and you can’t get rid off until late…very late spring. I went out like this thinking if it is good for spring it will be good for fall as well…right? Well guess what? I was completely wrong! It was perfectly fine for the early morning but after a couple of hours…not so much. The day became hot, more close to summer than anything else and I was forced to take my layers off little by little. Good that I was wearing a blouse underneath my sweater…sometimes it’s just a bra and if that had been the case, well I guess I would have suffered quite a bit.

Esto es lo que pasa cuando una se viste para comienzos de primavera (época que aún llevamos el miedo al frío arrastrando desde el invierno) a comienzos de otoño. Salí vestida con este conjunto por la mañana tan contenta pensando si es adecuado para primavera es adecuado para otoño…pues bien…grave error. La verdad en un comienzo si que estaba genial pero según pasaban las horas el día se transformó en algo mas parecido a verano que otra cosa y tuve que ir poco a poco…fuera capas! Por suerte que llevaba una blusa bajo el jersey, muchas veces voy solo con sujetador y de haber sido así no sé muy bien que hubiese sido de mi.

It’s that time of the year again. As spring moves on it’s inevitable that we are faced with a series of events, including weddings. I personally love weddings, they are so lively, happy and there is nothing better than people getting together to celebrate love. But what comes with being a wedding guest is you have to pull a rather formal outfit together. For some it’s all they could wish for, but for some others it’s a complete inconvenient.
Picking a dress for a wedding can be so damn hard. So either if you are in the first or second category I have picked a few options for all budgets and tastes. No matter if you are more into short, long or midi, I have selected options for everyone.

Ya es esa época del año. Cuando la primavera avanza nos encontramos con una serie de eventos característicos de esta época del año entre los cuales están como no las bodas. A mi personalmente me encantan las bodas no hay nada mas bonito que gente reunida para celebrar una unión. Pero lo que viene de la mano con las bodas es un conjunto para asistir y aquí es donde a algunas se nos complica el tema.
Escoger un vestido para una boda no siempre es fácil, por eso la entrada de hoy incluye mi selección de vestidos para todos los presupuestos y gustos. Vestidos largos, midi y mini, he añadido un poco de todo.

I don’t know if you noticed but I’m not in Madrid anymore I have arrived in Santiago, Chile. Once again I change continents for a while. It’s actually fall here but it’s much hotter than in Madrid. At the end though the temperature and climate is pretty much the same in fall and spring, it’s only a psychological thing that people gravitate toward floral colors in spring and neutrals in fall. As you know I gravitate to neutrals every single season, so you will see no change at all in my outfits so hopefully they will be suitable for both hemispheres.
I am wearing a maxi dress something so rare in me, in fact this is the only maxi dress I own. I have never been a fan of maxi dresses because up until recently they were made mostly in flowy cuts, and that reminds me of gypsies, not that I have anything against gypsies but I don’t like their traditional ensembles at all. I don’t mind flowy in mid or short lengths just not in long ones. When slimmer shapes started appearing I was more drawn into experimenting with this new length, and this is what I have done. I love the possibilities this dress gives, not only it is made in a gorgeous charcoal grey but it has a beautiful unexpected draped at the front, that gives it an extra something. It also offers so many possibilities as of how to wear it, layered or not, with flat shoes or heels, accessorized or not the options are endless.
Since it’s kind of hot here, I went with my new leopard slides and my new beautiful birthday bag! Keeping it simple but perfect for transitioning in between seasons.

No se si os habréis fijado pero ya no estoy en Madrid, he viajado y estoy nuevamente en Santiago, Chile! Aquí es otoño pero la verdad hace bastante mas calor que en Madrid. La verdad al final en entretiempo da igual si es primavera u otoño en esta época hace la misma temperatura en casi todo el mundo, es puramente psicológico que la gente tienda a preferir colores fuertes en primavera y neutros en otoño, como sabéis yo me decanto por los neutros todo el año así que no veréis diferencia alguna en mis conjuntos. Con esto espero que os sean apropiados para ambos hemisferios.
Llevo un vestido maxi lo que es bastante raro en mi, de hecho es el primer vestido largo que tengo. Nunca he sido fan de los vestido largos, la verdad hasta hace poco solo podíamos ver vestidos largos en cortes anchos y fluidos y estos me recuerdan al vestido tradicional gitano, que me horroriza. No sé porque me parece tan feo, no tengo nada en contra de los gitanos es simplemente esa estética que no soporto. Sin embargo ese mismo corte en un largo midi o mini no me molesta. Cuando las formas largas y mas ajustadas comenzaron su aparición se me abrió un abanico de posibilidades y he decidido experimentar. Me encanta este vestido, no solo tiene un color estupendo en gris carbón si no que también tiene un drapeado en la parte superior muy interesante que lo hace algo diferente y un tanto más especial. Me encanta las posibilidades que este vestido da, con capas para el frío o solo para el buen tiempo, zapatos con tacón o planos, con algún accesorio o sin nada, la verdad da bastante juego y puede acabar cambiando bastante según se lleve.
Como aquí el tiempo esta bastante caluroso opté por mis sandalias nuevas de J.Crew y mi bolso nuevo de Saint Laurent.
