Dubrovnik outfit number two. I wore my new Equipment sleeveless white shirt, which I was dying to wear, but saving for my trip. This was the number one garment my summer wardrobe was missing, a classic white sleeveless shirt. I wanted to buy it before, but the standard model was too big on me, so when the slim version came out I jumped at it eyes closed, and I am so glad I did, its the perfect everyday shirt for summer.

Mi conjunto numero dos de Dubrovnik. Por fin pude usar mi camisa blanca sin mangas de Equipment que compre hace unas semanas pero que estuve guardando para el viaje. Esta era LA prenda que faltaba en mi armario, una camisa clásica blanca pero sin mangas para verano. Quise comprarla antes pero el modelo standard era enorme para mi, así que cuando sacaron la versión slim, sin pensarlo fui a por ella, y me alegro de que manera puesto que es la camisa perfecta para el día a día de verano.

This is a new section I decided to add in my blog, in it I will be featuring and reviewing stores I visit around the world, in which you can find great items (of course we’re talking about fashion items). I will be telling you a little bit about the store, the location, it’s stock, pricing, mostly everything you need to know and I will be rating them as well.
A large percent of all the emails I receive are always asking for advice on where to shop, where can I find this, what is the right size, and things like that, and of course there’s nothing I like talking about more, and probably nothing I know more about so this is a way in which I can answer some of these questions, for everyone.
My first store is Maria. It has a store in Zagreb and Dubrovnik but in this trip I only visited Dubrovnik so I can only talk about this store. Besides Maxmara store, to my knowledge its the only place to shop luxury fashion in Dubrovnik. There was another store that stocked a few items from See by Chloe and Furla, but was not really worth it.
Maria Store is the number one multi brand luxury store in Croatia, that I can tell for sure, they stock Alaïa, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Céline, Givenchy, Stella McCartney among others. The store is located in the heart of Dubrovnik Old Town, in what I believe is an old monastery. As you can see from the picture I took from the outside it keeps the old Dubrovnik vibe while inside it’s beautifully decorated keeping it minimal so the main focus always goes to the products.
The store is quite small, but even so it is well stocked. I was delighted to find, a whole big selection of Céline and Givenchy bags, as well as good selection of sunglasses, great fall/winter clothes, and a small selection from spring/summer garments on sale.
The only “but” here is I found the store to be, a little overpriced, at least compared to the prices in Spain and France. I don’t blame them though because of course if you are the only store in a city, or even country stocking most of the brands I just mentioned, you can elevate the prices a little, after all you have no direct competition, and you know people are going purchase your product anyways specially when it comes to Céline, we all know how tricky it can be finding a certain bag at times. I did try a few things, and I almost bought a skirt, but sadly as I stated before it was overpriced, and it did fit a little big, so that would mean extra money to have it altered on an overpriced item, I did not feel it would be a good investment.
The fitting room was nice, but it was not very comfortable to see the clothes inside it, so you were kind of “forced” to go outside to have a better look. I’m always upset when that happens, some people just want privacy, but we are talking of a small store, so you can’t expect a big fitting area, so it makes sense. Overall the experience was good, and I would definitely recommend you go visit the store even if you don’t plan on buying anything, it is just a good store, period.
The S.A where really nice and friendly, and one of the best thing it opens until midnight!

Esta es una nueva sección que he decidido añadir, en ella hablaré de tiendas que visito alrededor del mundo que van en mi linea y en donde encontrareis productos recomendables (ropa y accesorios). Os ire contando un poco sobre la tienda, su localización, stock, precios, toda la información necesaria y también las evaluare.
Un gran porcentaje de los emails que recibo son para preguntarme donde comprar, donde encontrar determinado producto, cual es el tamaño adecuado y todo lo relacionado con esto y como no hay nada que me guste mas responder, y probablemente nada de lo que sepa mas he pensado que esta es una buena forma de responder todas estas preguntas abiertamente, contando poco a poco donde comprar.
Mi primera tienda es Maria en Dubrovnik, es la Ekseption de Croacia. Tiene dos tiendas una en Dubrovnik y otra en Zagreb. De momento solo he estado en la de Dubrovnik así que solo me referiré a esta para hacer mi evaluación. Aparte de MaxMara es la única tienda a mi entender donde comprar artículos de lujo en Dubrovnik. Había otra tienda en Old Town que tenía un par de cosas de See by Chloe y bolsos de Furla pero no estaba a la altura de estas dos.
Maria es la multi marca de lujo mas prestigiosa de Croacia eso os lo digo desde ya. Lleva marcas como Alaïa, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Céline, Givenchy, Stella McCartney entre muchas otras. La tienda de Dubrovnik se encuentra en el centro de Old Town en lo que parece fue un antiguo monasterio.Como podéis ver de la foto que hice de la fachada mantiene la estética del casco antiguo (Old Town) de la ciudad mientras que por dentro es de decoración y mobiliario minimalista para restarle importancia a los detalles y que lo mas importante siempre sea el producto.
La tienda es bastante pequeña, pero aun así su stock es bastante impresionante. Fue una grata sorpresa encontrar tantas gafas y bolsos de Céline, y Givenchy, así como una enorme selección de ropa de la colección de otoño/invierno y una gran variedad de items de primavera/verano rebajados.
El único pero, es que encontré que los precios estaban un poco altos para lo que estas mismas prendas suelen costar en Francia o España, pero ya que son la única tienda que lleva estas marcas en la ciudad y país no es de extrañar, sin competencia sabes que a la gente no le queda otra y con un buen stock te aseguras que la gente comprará de todas formas, sobre todo cuando hablamos de Celine ya sabéis lo difícil que es encontrar ciertas cosas de la firma. Me probé algunas cosas y casi compro una falda pero al final desistí me estaba grande y como he dicho anteriormente el precio estaba un poco alto para lo que realmente vale, lo que se traduce en pagar mas para que me la arreglen, lo que en algo en su precio no pasa nada, pero no cuando no lo esta no acaba siendo una buena compra.
Los probadores estaban bien aunque un poco pequeños para mirarse en el espejo de dentro lo que te obligaba a salir fuera y eso a mi la verdad me molesta bastante porque probarse cosas es algo privado y no debería ser asunto de nadie opinar sobre ello. Pero por otro lado en una tienda pequeña no hay mucha opción y recortar en espacio de probadores probablemente sea la mejor opción.
En general la experiencia fue muy buena, definitivamente os recomiendo visitar la tienda aun si no tenéis planes de comprar nada en concreto, simplemente es una tienda la que vale la pena entrar y punto. Las dependientas fueron muy amables y educadas y lo mejor de todo es que abren hasta las 24hrs.

First outfit from Dubrovnik! Very similar to an outfit I wore a few months ago, the main difference is the sandals, but to me it makes a whole big difference, a more tougher look with Birkenstocks, while this outfit is somewhat more feminine with the K Jacques sandals. I wore this outfit all day first to go to the beach, then to have a walk around the harbor, and later to have dinner, and it transitioned from activity to another perfectly fine, just what a good outfit does, it never looks out of place.

Mi primer conjunto de Dubrovnik. Muy similar a este conjunto de hace unos meses pero con otras sandalias. Aunque la diferencia solo esta en el calzado a mi parecer cambia muchísimo, con estas sandalias el look acaba siendo mas suave y femenino. Me puse este conjunto el primer día para ir a la playa, pasear por el puerto y luego ir a cenar y la verdad es que se valió a la perfección para las tres situaciones del día, justo lo que en mi libro define un conjunto acertado.

I was not expecting to find something for me in Dubrovnik, to be honest fashion wise, it has not much to offer, except for two stores (I will get into this in a few posts), one being MaxMara, and even though in general it’s a brand with great clothes I have never been specially drawn to it.
Since there were not much stores to look at, I went in, and to my surprise found a few things that I loved, some were from fall winter collection and other on sale from spring summer. At the end I purchased this one thing I really loved and had been searching for…and I will leave you to guess, what do you think I got?

La verdad no estaba esperando encontrar nada de ropa para mi en Dubrovnik, no tiene mucho en ese aspecto a excepción de dos tiendas (escribiré sobre ellas en un futuro). Una de ellas es MaxMara que aunque en general es una firma estupenda con ropa excepcional no es de mis favoritas.
Como no había muchas tiendas para mirar, entre y sorprendentemente encontré unas cuantas cosas que me encantaron. Algunas eran de la colección de otoño y otras de verano. Al final acabe comprando solo una cosa que realmente llamó mi atención y que estaba buscando desde hace bastante. Os dejaré adivinar, que es?
