Another of my striped dresses I brought to this trip, yeah three, might seem too much for some, but for me it’s reasonable. I’m thinking of keeping it together this spring and summer, and buy other patterns…just to prove myself i’m not obsessed. Although i’m not a pattern person, once in a while, something I like could come up, and I better take it, because it does not happen often.
Maybe you can’t tell from my pictures, but I’m a little sad, I don’t want to leave summer, I don’t want to leave Chile and by no means I want to leave all the people here. So…hopefully, hopefully, I can return soon.

Otro de mis vestidos a rayas, otro que me acompaña en este viaje, si tres, reíros, es mucho para la mayoría, para mi es razonable. Estoy pensando seriamente como una resolución de este año y con especial a esta primavera y verano contenerme y no comprar ningún vestido a rayas, en vez intentarlo con algún otro estampado. No soy muy de estampados así que va ser complicado…pero de haber alguno que me guste, no lo dejaré pasar ya que la verdad no es frecuente que me guste algo estampado.
Quizás no se note en las fotos, pero la verdad estoy triste, no tengo ganas de dejar el verano, no tengo ganas de dejar Chile y menos tengo ganas de dejar a la gente de aquí. Así que ya estoy viendo cuando podré volver, ojalá sea muy pronto.

May I introduce my newest pair of all white sneakers: the classic and full of history: Jack Purcell.
Since I saw this exact same sneakers on my friend Omar last summer I have been lusting like crazy over a pair. He is a big inspiration for me, since he is one of the only individuals on earth that shares my exact same taste for clothes…and life! Unfortunately in Spain they were only available for order online, and I almost ordered them before my trip, but at the end I didn’t and i’m so glad. The sizing is small compared to the All Star model so ordering online was a big no, no for these. Luckily for me in Chile these sneakers are available to buy in all the Converse stores. So of course the second I saw them, I went for them in a blink of an eye.
For all of you wondering about the history behind these sneakers, i’ll tell you a little bit about them. The Jack Purcell sneakers are an old classic from Converse that has recently been re-launched (think something in the line of Adidas Stan Smith model or the famous Superstar). They are named after Canadian badminton player John “Jack” Purcell. He designed these sneakers as early as 1935, and Converse purchased the rights for them in 1970s and has been selling them ever since. You can say owning a pair of these, is owning a piece of history.

Mis nuevas zapatillas blancas, un clásico de Converse el modelo Jack Purcell.
Desde el verano pasado, cuando las vi en mi amigo Omar que me enamoré de estas zapatillas, desafortunadamente en España no las vendían en ninguna parte, solo por internet. Casi las compro antes de viajar, pero me alegro de no haberlo hecho ya que el tallaje en este modelo es distinto al de las famosísimas All Star. Por suerte para mi, en Chile las venden en todas las tiendas Converse, así que nada mas verlas fui a por ellas, y aquí están!
Ahora si os estáis preguntando cual es la historia tras estas zapatillas os la contaré. Son un modelo antiguo de Converse que recientemente ha sido re-lanzado para volver a darle la popularidad de antaño (algo parecido a lo que hizo Adidas con las Stan Smith y las Superstar). Su nombre es en honor a su creador el jugador y campeón mundial de badminton John “Jack” Purcell que las diseño nada mas ni nada menos que en 1935 lo que hace de estas zapatillas todo un pedazo de historia. Converse compró los derechos en la década de los setenta y las venden desde entonces, en varios colores y variaciones.

Last outfit post of the year!
To me summer as winter is always a struggle. I feel most comfortable in mild weather clothes. You might think this is the most frequent case, but I have found most people or at least most people I know feel at their best with summer clothes. Why? I guess some women are pretentious and like to show their body off, or maybe they are just practical as men and like to carry the lesser possible clothes. Some people may just be victims of the climate they live in and may be sick of a ten month long winter and a summer like most of the worlds spring and may just be eager for a change, but whatever the reason for me it is a matter of just being able to feel the more myself that I can.
Most of my “summer” tops are long sleeved, more suitable for spring or fall, even though most of my bottoms are short or lightweight long so most suitable for summer, and at the end that mix is what makes it better for me to be in a year long average temperature which is of course impossible. At the end I wear long sleeved sweatshirts in summer, short skirts with bare legs in winter against what is expected but that is just MY WAY.
So when I went out with this sweatshirt I was looked at more than once with an horror face of what the hell is a sane person doing in a sweatshirt on a 30ºC day? Well I think I as well as becoming inmune to cold on my legs have become inmune to heat in my arms/chest or I am so comfortable happy in my outfit that I just don’t feel it. Of course this is a light sweatshirt but…a short sleeved shirt was more suitable.
I think this topic is a good one for debate and even for study, and I could go on forever so I am just gonna leave it here.

Para mi el verano como el invierno es una lucha constante, aunque odio un poco menos el verano que el invierno al final el caso es que me siento mas cómoda con ropa de entretiempo. Quizás se crea de que es lo mas común pero he descubierto que la mayoría de la gente o al menos de la gente que yo conozco se sienten mas cómodos con ropa de verano. Por que? Puede que sea porque las mujeres solemos ser pretensiosas y nos gusta enseñar mas, o quizás es por un tema práctico de llevar menos bultos o puede ser que para mucha gente sea víctima del clima de su país/ciudad y estén cansados de un invierno interminable y de un par de meses menos fríos que se asemejan mas a los comienzos de primavera del resto del mundo. La verdad no lo sé, pero cual sea la razón para mi es que necesito sentirme lo mas yo posible.
La mayoría de mis tops de “verano” son de manga larga, bastante mas adecuados para primavera y otoño, la mayoría de mis partes de abajo son cortas o largas pero de tela delgada mas apropiadas para el verano, así que mi época perfecta es el entretiempo cuando puedo mezclar la mayoría de mi ropa y un año de primavera u otoño interminable sería lo ideal, pero lógicamente eso es imposible. Al final acabo usando mangas largas en verano y faldas cortas en invierno en contra de lo lógico pero así soy yo, y esta es mi forma de mi vestir.
Así que cuando salí a la calle con este conjunto más de alguien me miró con cara de horror, seguramente pensando a quien se le ocurre llevar sudadera en un día de 30ºC? Creo que de la misma forma que me he vuelto inmune al frío en las piernas me he vuelto inmune al calor en la parte superior de mi cuerpo o simplemente voy tan feliz y contenta con mi ropa que se me olvida el calor. También hay que decirlo, es una sudadera ligera, pero…una camiseta de manga corta seria mucho mas apropiada.
Creo que este tema es fascinante y da para mucho y podría seguir hablando de el hasta el infinito y ese no es el plan, así que lo dejo aquí.
