In Lagos, Portugal. This summer has been a big long road trip across the Iberian Peninsula. From Madrid we went to spent a few days at the countryside home in Segovia, then to see our nieces in their summer home in Logroño, then down again to Madrid and then all the way to southern Portugal to the Algarve. We toured all the main towns and beaches there with base in Sagres, then up we go to Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais and then up to Coimbra. From there we went up some more to Oporto and then up some more back to Spain for a wedding in Galicia. After the wedding back to Segovia (where I am now) for one last week before going back to Madrid. What an amazing summer and what an amazing road trip.
Here I am in Lagos, at the very first stops of our trip. Loved this charming town, we had a really good dinner experience!

En Lagos, Portugal. Este verano ha sido una gran aventura en coche a través de la Peninsula Ibérica. Desde Madrid fuimos a pasar unos días a la finca en Segovia, para luego subir hasta Logroño a pasar unos días en familia, luego bajamos otra vez a Madrid y luego seguimos mas abajo aun hacia Portugal, donde recorrimos todo el Algarve con base en Sagres. Después subimos hasta Lisboa, Sintra y Cascais y luego subimos mas hasta Coimbra. Desde allí subimos un poco más hasta Oporto y luego aun más hasta Galicia ya que tuvimos una boda en Pontevedra. Desde allí volvimos a bajar a Segovia (en donde me encuentro ahora) a pasar una ultima semana ya mas relajada otra vez en el campo. Ha sido un verano y viaje estupendo.
En las fotos de hoy me encuentro en Lagos una de nuestras primeras paradas del Algarve. Llevo un conjunto de vaqueros y camisola, ya que aunque es muy ventoso el sur de Portugal, también es muy caluroso!

Wearing THE pair of shorts I own for everyday. I love them because they remind me of another era, 1950’s or 60’s. They are absolutely one of a kind, I have never seen any thing like them before, only in movies and they are the complete opposite of what everyone is wearing at the moment, very short denim frayed shorts. I feel the only style that really represents me when it comes to shorts are the long ones so of course these have become my summer shorts. I combined them with a basic black t-shirt and flat sandals for a casual everyday ensemble.

Hoy llevo EL par de pantalones cortos que tengo para el día a día. Me encantan porque el diseño es único, no había visto jamás nada igual, excepto en películas ambientadas en otra época como la década de los 50 y 60. Me cuesta encontrar pantalones cortos que me representen los de hoy en día se han vuelto extremadamente vulgares, rotos y demasiado cortos. He combinado estos pantalones con una camiseta básica y sandalias planas, ideal para un día de verano.

Another summer in the city outfit, this time its all about white jeans and a vanilla color ribbed top with tortoiseshell sunglasses. When I was wearing this outfit I was think, oh how I wish I had some brownish/tan accessories than would perfectly with this outfit (specially shoes and bag). So there goes a resolution for next summer: buy tan sandals and bag. Now it’s too late in the game and I don’t feel its a good idea to keep buying summer clothes even if we have at least two very hot months to go in Madrid.

Otro conjunto “verano en la ciudad”. Hoy llevo mis vaqueros blancos y un top de color vainilla con gafas de carey. Mientras me vestía no dejaba de pensar que ojalá tuviese accesorios en color marrón para realzar este conjunto. Es una pena, pero ya tengo mi resolución para el proximo verano: comprar accesorios en tonos marrones. Podría hacerlo ahora pero siento que es demasiado tarde ya para seguir comprando prendas de verano, aun cuando en Madrid nos queden al menos dos meses de mucho calor, creo que es mas inteligente invertir en cosas de entretiempo o que se puedan llevar todo el año, así que creo que dejaré esta misión para el año que viene. Ya veremos si acabo por hacerlo o no, sin duda intentaré salir de mi zona de comfort de todo negro y pasarme al lado marrón.

Super hot day in the city. I am wearing one of my favorite jeans ever the discontinued model “Row” by Acne Studios. I love this design because it actually is cropped for someone my height and half the times a pair of jeans is meant to be cropped it only ends up being cropped for 5’8 girls or higher. Even though I should have gotten a smaller size, worn with a belt it fits just fine and I love how soft and comfortable it is. I paired it with a classic sleeveless shirt I’ve had for years, a true summer essential and flat sandals.

Un día muy caluroso en Madrid. Hoy llevo uno de mis vaqueros favoritos el modelo descatalogado “Row” de Acne Studios. Me encanta este diseño ya que es de los pocos modelos que promete ser tobillero, y realmente es tobillero para todas las mujeres. La mayoría de los modelos/ marcas acaban por ser tobilleros solo para chicas altas y es una gran decepción, por eso es una pena que lo hayan quitado de la venta sin previo aviso. Aun que debería de haberme comprado una talla menos de la que compré me encanta, y puesto con un cinturón queda de maravilla. Lo he combinado con un básico esencial de verano que tengo hace años, una camisa sin mangas blanca. Para terminar el calzado mas cómodo para este calor, sandalias planas.
