Holiday season is just about to start, I love this time of the year because it means so many fun events! Brunches, dinner, parties, trips, you name it, everyone is packed with exciting things to do and people to see. Probably the most fun part of holiday season is the parties, so today I decided to focus on what to wear to this type of evening events we all must attend.

La temporada de fiestas esta por empezar! A mí personalmente me encanta esta época del año ya que es sinónimo de eventos divertidos! Brunches, cenas, fiestas, viajes, etc a todos se nos llena la agenda de sitios donde ir y gente que ver. Para la mayoría creo que la parte mas significativa son las fiestas, es por ello que la entrada de hoy se centra en ello. Aquí os dejo conjuntos de inspiración que espero sean de ayuda.

So I am finally wearing this beautiful white midi skirt I got at MaxMara store in Dubrovnik. I completely fell in love with it at first sight, it is super versatile, the material is thick so no see through but it is also fresh for summer, and it’s machine wash…like 1% of my clothes…finally something that I can wash at home! Since white color gets dirty easily this factor in my opinion is major when talking about light clothing. Besides all this, the design is classic, no weird cuts, no trendy shape, just a classic mid length skirt that can be worn forever, and even though it’s a summer garment it can transition easily to fall paired with knitwear, and can be worn in spring as well. It can also adjust to any situation, from daywear to night, from casual to formal, I can see how any office woman could actually wear it to, so many reason for loving it.

Esta falda es la que compré en la tienda de MaxMara en Dubrovnik hace un mes. Me enamoré a primera vista de ella, es versátil, no se transparenta ya que el material es grueso pero fresco a la vez, y es de lavado a maquina, tristemente como el 1% de mi ropa, pero se agradece algo que finalmente pueda lavar en casa! Como el color blanco tiende a ensuciarse rápido y con frecuencia es prioritario que se pueda lavar a máquina (sentido común) al menos en mi opinión. Además de todo esto el diseño clásico me encanta, no tiene cortes ni formas extrañas que son tendencia fugaz y luego quedan ridículas, al contrario este diseño es atemporal. Otro factor importante es como puede pasar de verano a otoño solo con añadirle un punto grueso, así mismo podría empezar a usarse en primavera no es algo exclusivo de verano. También puede adaptarse a cualquier situación, de día a noche, de casual a formal, incluso para las que trabajáis en oficina tiene muchísimas posibilidades.

This skirt I doubt is available anywhere now, since it’s from the SS 2014 collection, but for similar white skirts my recommendations are:

I was not expecting to find something for me in Dubrovnik, to be honest fashion wise, it has not much to offer, except for two stores (I will get into this in a few posts), one being MaxMara, and even though in general it’s a brand with great clothes I have never been specially drawn to it.
Since there were not much stores to look at, I went in, and to my surprise found a few things that I loved, some were from fall winter collection and other on sale from spring summer. At the end I purchased this one thing I really loved and had been searching for…and I will leave you to guess, what do you think I got?

La verdad no estaba esperando encontrar nada de ropa para mi en Dubrovnik, no tiene mucho en ese aspecto a excepción de dos tiendas (escribiré sobre ellas en un futuro). Una de ellas es MaxMara que aunque en general es una firma estupenda con ropa excepcional no es de mis favoritas.
Como no había muchas tiendas para mirar, entre y sorprendentemente encontré unas cuantas cosas que me encantaron. Algunas eran de la colección de otoño y otras de verano. Al final acabe comprando solo una cosa que realmente llamó mi atención y que estaba buscando desde hace bastante. Os dejaré adivinar, que es?
