A beautiful fall day, with much less wind and a lot of sun. I am wearing an all black outfit, a super cozy black knit dress and suede boots. With this type of dress a coat is more than enough to stay warm, so that is all I wore over it. I love a good ribbed dress in winter it’s a great way of staying warm without compromising style and sophistication, plus it is suitable for almost any occasion, you can easily wear to work and transition to night for dinner or a party. It’s also a great option to wear to all the events that come with this time of the year.

Un estupendo día de otoño, con mucho menos viento y mucho sol. Hoy llevo un conjunto completamente negro, un vestido de punto muy abrigado y botas de ante. Con este tipo de vestido, un abrigo es más que suficiente para evitar el frío, lo que resulta muy práctico mantenerse en calor con solo dos capas. Me encanta un buen vestido de punto en invierno, es una excelente manera de mantenerse abrigado sin comprometer el estilo y la sofisticación, además es adecuado para casi cualquier ocasión, puede llevarse fácilmente para un día de trabajo y convertirse en un vestido de noche para una cena o fiesta. También es una excelente opción para todos los eventos de fin de año, como comidas/cenas/fiestas navideñas o de Noche Vieja.

There is something about white pants in winter that blows my mind, must be the unexpected in it.

With the month, new temperatures came and the cold is definitely here to stay. This weather calls desperately for coats. Today I am wearing my classic black Manuela coat over jeans and a sweater with ballet flats. Very comfortable without being overly casual.

Today I am wearing my latest vintage find: black Levi’s 501. It had been ages since I went vintage shopping, last time was in London looking for this exact model but I was unable to find any that fit just right. Now almost a year later, I was able to find this awesome pair here in Madrid and I am beyond happy with it. I don’t know why black jeans are so hard to find, I have struggled so much to find the perfect pair you can’t even begin to imagine. I have bought and sold because none quite do it for me, until I found this one pair. Since it was really long I went for the “cut it yourself”, in hopes of a nice fray with wear, I much rather do that, than have them professionally shortened, my experience has been awful with alterations, and now I only buy jeans that fit my height which is hard, but rewarding. This pair however, being vintage and so low in price became the perfect candidate for a DIY cut.

Hoy llevo mi mas reciente hallazgo vintage: un clásico par de Levi’s 501 en color negro. Ha pasado un buen tiempo desde que fui en busca de una prenda vintage, la última vez fue en Londres buscando este mismo modelo, pero sin suerte. Ahora, casi un año después, pude encontrar este increíble par, aquí en Madrid y estoy más que feliz con el. No sé por qué los vaqueros negros son tan difíciles de encontrar, he buscado tanto para encontrar el par perfecto que no os podéis hacer una idea. He comprado y luego vendido unos cuantos pares porque al final no tienen el aspecto que busco, o no sientan bien, o el color no es un autentico negro vaquero, en fin, ha sido un largo camino hasta encontrar este par. El único inconveniente fue el largo, por lo cual opté por cortarlo yo misma con la esperanza de que después de el uso y un par de lavados, el acabado deshilachado sea de lo mas natural (como el de otros pares que tengo). Prefiero esta opción a un acortado profesional, mi experiencia ha sido horrible con las alteraciones, y ahora solo compro vaqueros que se ajusten a mi altura, algo difícil, pero posible. Sin embargo, este par, al ser vintage y tener un precio tan bajo, se convirtió en el candidato perfecto para un corte propio.
