Jeans are one of the key elements in every capsule wardrobe. Being able to organize it accordingly and plan your purchases in a smart way so it all keeps coming together is mandatory. So many seem lost when it comes to sorting out what type of jeans to wear. All you really need is a few styles that overcome the test of time and compliment everything else in your wardrobe. To help you, I created this small guide to five jeans styles to wear forever.

STRAIGHT LEGThis is the classic above classics, some call it “boyfriend”, others “mom jeans” if it is really high waisted, for me it’s just straight leg. It’s probably the most popular style still, no matter the trends. A few of my favorites include brands as Levi’s, Toteme and this gorgeous style is by Tu Es Mon Tresor and you can get it HERE

HIGH RISE SLIMYou can’t avoid owning a slim style.¬†Another version is the skinny which is almost like a legging (it comes specially in handy when wearing boots), but personally I prefer a less tight style. Khaite’s Vanessa jeans are a perfect example, sadly not appropriate for anyone under 5’9. I love how J Brand does this style, also Levi’s. This black classic pair is by Saint Laurent and you can find it HERE.

This style was made popular by Toteme, and there is no other brand I can think of that master’s this one as good. I own this particular pair, and wear it so much. This one is by the swedish label and you can get it HERE.

CROPPED FLARENot easy to find in a cropped style but so flattering as it has this late 90’s vibe the cropped flare style was done beautifully by Khaite. Now discontinued this style can be found in a very similar cut by Toteme. Wear it with kitten heels or sandals for a more 1990’s style.

Finally my new favorite style, the balloon jeans. This curved style was done ages ago by Toteme in their trousers, but a few years ago they made them into jeans. Citizens of Humanity also have the Calista style which is more similar but in different colors. Wandler also has this model in a gorgeous cut. I love to wear mine with flats for a soft look.
