I bet you never thought I would wear something pink, or even close to pink, and honestly I wouldn’t, this is I can assure you: an exception. Of all the colors in the rainbow pink and maybe orange are my least favorite, in other words I don’t like them at all. It doesn’t help how bad I look in them. I also have this thing with pink that I find it looks tacky on blondes, however even if I don’t like the color I do think it looks great in brunettes. I think it’s because it reminds me of Barbie, Paris Hilton and Jersey Shore, all synonyms of tackiness to the biggest extent.
Any how, this beautiful dress, was a gift I chose when I was given to choose between a few. It caught my attention because the subtle way pink shows in the gorgeous flower print, the navy mixed up sort of opaques the color make the dress sweet and sober. I don’t wear it much, but when I do it’s always mixed with flat footwear and dark colors. To me it works out this way.

Apuesto a que no se os ocurriría pensar que yo podría usar algo rosa, y la verdad es que no lo haría, os puedo asegurar que esto es una excepción. De todos los colores existentes el rosa y probablemente el naranja son los que menos me atraen o en otras palabras no me gustan nada. No ayuda lo mal que me sientan. También tengo este tema con el rosa que me parece bastante vulgar en rubias pero aunque no me gusta el color me parece que sienta estupendamente a morenas. Debe ser por el hecho que lo asocio a Barbie, Paris Hilton y Jersey Shore todas cosas sinónimos de la máxima vulgaridad existente.
De cualquier modo este precioso vestido fue un regalo, que escogí entre algunas opciones. Llamó mi atención la forma sutil en que el rosa se ve entre el estampado floral, el azul navy en la mezcla opaca el rosa y lo hace parecer dulce y sobrio. No lo uso mucho la verdad, pero cuando lo hago lo suelo combinar con calzado plano y colores oscuros, es mi forma de interpretar esta prenda.

I think i’ve mentioned it more that once, but I’m not a summer person at all. I don’t really like summer clothes, I don’t enjoy the excess of heat, and I definitely don’t need going to the beach as much. At least not in hot, hot weather. My ideal summer involves some rain, the countryside, everything deep green, a Barbour coat (i’m thinking northern Spain, Northern England, Ireland something like that) or wind, a lighthouse, sailing, and wearing a raincoat (thinking New England’s coast). Sometimes I do crave one week of doing nothing, just drinking coktails and swimming in the sea (Caribbean here), but that rarely happens.
These past few years though, I’ve been focusing summer holidays on getting to know places I have never been to, that are somewhat closer to me. Exploring Mediterranean islands has been a wonderful adventure so far, and I’ll be doing just that for one last summer, before a change of plans.

Creo que lo he mencionado mas de una vez, pero no soy una fan del verano. No me gusta mucho la ropa de verano, ni el exceso de calor, y definitivamente no necesito ir a la playa. Al menos no en los meses cálidos. Mi verano ideal sería con lluvia, en el campo, todo verde con un Barbour (norte de España, Reino Unido, Irlanda), o quizás un poco de viento, un faro, navegar y un chubasquero (la costa de Nueva Inglaterra). Hay veces que si me apetece una semana de no hacer nada bebiendo cocteles y nadando en el mar (estilo Caribe) pero es bastante raro en mi.
Este par de años he enfocado mis vacaciones de verano en conocer sitios en lo que nunca había estado que están en los alrededores. Explorar las islas del mediterráneo ha sido una aventura encantadora de momento, y este verano hare mas de lo mismo por una última vez antes de cambiar de planes.

In summer, with all the related activities such as going to the beach, the countryside, festivals and pool outings we end up getting extra careful with our usual luxurious leather bags, so what do we need? Ideally we would have a collection of summer bags, sand, sun and water proof, but that in my opinion takes years to build. Personally I am always drawn to black leather bags, so I never have given my full attention to summer bags, until a couple of years ago, when I understood the importance started traveling to the southern hemisphere to avoid part of our winter. With two summer’s a year, three last year (yes, i’m talking about L.A) I started my wishlist of classic, versatile and of course useful summer bags.
I still have a long way to go to build my ideal collection, but I am totally on it…and today I am sharing with you the gorgeous ladies that made it to my wishlist.

En verano, con todas las actividades características como ir a la playa, el campo, festivales y piscina acabamos por llevar con extra cuidado nuestros bolsos de cuero que honestamente no son lo mas apropiado. Idealmente todas deberíamos tener una colección de bolsos de verano a prueba de arena y agua, pero una buena colección tarda años en acumularse. Personalmente siempre me decanto por los bolsos negros de cuero por lo que nunca había prestado especial atención a los bolsos de verano hasta hace un par de años cuando entendí la importancia empece a viajar al otro hemisferio en nuestro invierno y acabé por tener dos veranos al año, y el pasado año tres (por L.A) comencé a elaborar mi wishlist de bolsos clásicos y versátiles para el verano.
Aun tengo mucho camino por correr para tener la colección que me gustaría pero estoy en ello. De momento comparto con vosotros mis bolsos favoritos para este verano.

A classic summer look for me: striped top and shorts with sneakers. I think this is the first time I post an outfit with this striped top in beige, it’s a great alternative to the always classic but sometimes too repetitive navy stripes. They are just as austere and versatile. To finish the outfit my summer bag, my Longchamp Le Pliage.
