This collection in my opinion is a wonderful example of how classic and modern combine creating a perfect mix, with just the right amount of each other. This makes a collection wearable and approachable, by this I mean more people would venture out of their comfort classic zone to take a more modern route (such a s myself). Sometimes modern is done to aggressively and frankly that is a bit overwhelming, it ends up being too trendy, but when mixed with classic in this way, then it is just perfect!

Esta colección en mi opinión es la combinación perfecta entre clásico y moderno, con la justa cantidad de elementos de cada una lo que la hace muy cercana y usable y a esto me refiero que mas gente puede sentirse atraída a seguir una linea mas moderna y dejar un poco su zona de comfort (como sería mi caso). A veces lo moderno puede ser un poco abrumador, cuando se hace de forma muy agresiva y acaba por ser demasiado de tendencia y pasajero, pero si se mezcla con lo clásico de la forma adecuada, tenemos algo nuevo y fresco que funciona!

Today I wanted to continue with what I have been doing in the past few months, sharing with you my knowledge and love for good classic bags. This time I chose Balenciaga. This label has proven to be a real good handbag maker and that reflects in one of the most popular bags of the decade and now a classic: the “Classic City” bag.

Hoy continuo con una sección que llevo escribiendo hace unos meses, que va de compartir de una forma simple y clara mi conocimiento sobre bolsos, y la historia de las grandes firmas a través de ellos. Esta vez escogí Balenciaga como la firma en cuestión. A mi parecer esta marca es una gran creadora de bolsos que es reflejado en el icónico “Classic City” uno de los bolsos mas populares de la pasada década y ahora un clásico.
Classic Balenciaga bags are easily recognized, the characteristic strap, the front pocket with two studs, the long leather puller that goes with the zipper, the two small belts on the lower part, they all have it and are iconic to the brand. This bags I believe have been around over ten years so it it’s safe to say they are not only classics of the brand, but classics in general in the luxury handbags world.

Los bolsos clásicos de Balenciaga son muy fáciles de reconocer, el asa característica, el compartimento frontal con las dos tachuelas, el tirador de cremalleras largo, las dos pequeñas hebillas en la parte inferior son todos elementos que inmediatamente asociamos con la firma. Estos bolsos fueron creados hace aproximadamente diez años con lo cual podemos afirmar que no solo son clásicos en Balenciaga, si no que en el mundo de los bolsos en general.
The new bags…well, none have become as popular as the classics yet, but I think some have really great potential. They all have a very simple design, with just the right amount of logo or hardware. I personally like all of them, some more than others but I do believe they are all very easy to wear and therefore will have success through the years. Bags are made to be gorgeous yes, but they were also invented to be useful, that mix will make the perfect bag, and here I see plenty of examples of just that.

Los bolsos nuevos de la firma…bueno la verdad es que ninguno ha alcanzado ni de cerca la popularidad de los clásicos pero todos tienen gran potencial. Tienen un diseño simple y solo la justa cantidad de adornos. Personalmente me gustan todos, unos mas que otros pero al final todos son fáciles de usar por lo cual alcanzarán mas popularidad con el tiempo, no me cabe duda. Los bolsos no solo fueron creados para complentar un conjunto, también lo fueron para facilitarnos la vida, esa mezcla hace el bolso perfecto y aquí vemos muchos de esos.
It’s that time of the year again. As spring moves on it’s inevitable that we are faced with a series of events, including weddings. I personally love weddings, they are so lively, happy and there is nothing better than people getting together to celebrate love. But what comes with being a wedding guest is you have to pull a rather formal outfit together. For some it’s all they could wish for, but for some others it’s a complete inconvenient.
Picking a dress for a wedding can be so damn hard. So either if you are in the first or second category I have picked a few options for all budgets and tastes. No matter if you are more into short, long or midi, I have selected options for everyone.

Ya es esa época del año. Cuando la primavera avanza nos encontramos con una serie de eventos característicos de esta época del año entre los cuales están como no las bodas. A mi personalmente me encantan las bodas no hay nada mas bonito que gente reunida para celebrar una unión. Pero lo que viene de la mano con las bodas es un conjunto para asistir y aquí es donde a algunas se nos complica el tema.
