Today I am wearing one of the classics above classics: the straight jeans. As time goes bye more and more styles are being introduced in jeans, and some become classics pretty soon, while others take more time to be accepted by everyone. Well this style of jeans has been around probably forever and is one of the most versatile you will find. They are not skinny, not wide, they have an average length and rise, they are as neutral as it gets. That is a great advantage when you don’t have the time to plan an outfit and need something that will transition easily from day into night, from casual to semi-formal, etc. Today I styled mine with heels but of course I could have done exactly the same outfit with flats or sneakers and it would have worked just as fine.

I’ve had this flats for so long and I did not have one single picture wearing them! So finally an outfit with my red Chanel classic flats. Red is probably the only bright color I love/wear. I love small red accents on sober, clean outfits, it can be footwear or bags, or red lips but a nice small touch does the trick for me. I also do like red garments but I find so hard to actually find the perfect shade of red that until I do there won’t be any red clothes for me. For now this pair of gorgeous flats are all te red I need!

So today finally the super warm temperature ceased and i’m as happy as can be with this mild weather. I completely nailed it for today (temperature wise) with this outfit as it was perfect for this weather. I was not cold, not hot, just really comfortable!
Lately I have hardly been wearing skinny jeans, I have become more of a trousers/boyfriend jeans kind of gal but today I was back to my old, very very old (2008) Topshop jeans that I altered back in 2011 when I could not find the perfect cropped blue jeans. I paired them with my beloved Birkenstock Arizona sandals that I wore non stop in South America last winter. You can see a previous outfit of me wearing them HERE.

Today i’m in a grannish mood! I know my late grandmother would be in love with this outfit in fact this is pretty much what she always wore: white shirts, navy skirts and black mid heels with a black bag. She was one of the most refined/stylish women I have ever met and unconsciously she became a great influence to me, specially fashion-wise.
I don’t think we become aware at times how our surroundings specially our family and the way we are brought up influences our taste and vision in fashion but as I have become older I have realized how those things play a big part, wanted or not. No matter how much I experimented with fashion as a teenager I always come back to resemble the women in my family and how they dressed: sober, classic and as natural as possible.
