Another summer in the city outfit, this time its all about white jeans and a vanilla color ribbed top with tortoiseshell sunglasses. When I was wearing this outfit I was think, oh how I wish I had some brownish/tan accessories than would perfectly with this outfit (specially shoes and bag). So there goes a resolution for next summer: buy tan sandals and bag. Now it’s too late in the game and I don’t feel its a good idea to keep buying summer clothes even if we have at least two very hot months to go in Madrid.

Otro conjunto “verano en la ciudad”. Hoy llevo mis vaqueros blancos y un top de color vainilla con gafas de carey. Mientras me vestía no dejaba de pensar que ojalá tuviese accesorios en color marrón para realzar este conjunto. Es una pena, pero ya tengo mi resolución para el proximo verano: comprar accesorios en tonos marrones. Podría hacerlo ahora pero siento que es demasiado tarde ya para seguir comprando prendas de verano, aun cuando en Madrid nos queden al menos dos meses de mucho calor, creo que es mas inteligente invertir en cosas de entretiempo o que se puedan llevar todo el año, así que creo que dejaré esta misión para el año que viene. Ya veremos si acabo por hacerlo o no, sin duda intentaré salir de mi zona de comfort de todo negro y pasarme al lado marrón.

Last few days in the city and finally…holidays! I am so excited I finally get to leave town for a long time! In the meantime a casual summer outfit. I am so happy I finally own a basic white t-shirt! It seems so easy to buy one, but really since I will wear it non stop for years and years to come I wanted a top quality t-shirt just like the black one I own. I also wanted it to be relatively short, not cropped, but short enough to wear it over my jeans/pants/skirts and also tucked in. I find long t-shirts hard to tuck in and look right so a short one was a must. It is quite hard to find one with all this qualities so it has taken me a while. Finally this t-shirt became available in my size and it was a no brainer. It is so soft and lightweight for summer. Just what I wanted. I combined it with my Levi’s jeans and Chanel flats since I haven’t worn them in a while (with the high temperatures who wants to wear closed shoes anyways?), except for maybe today. Lol.

Ultimos días en Madrid antes de las vacaciones! Estoy tan contenta que por fin nos vamos de la ciudad por un buen tiempo! Mientras los últimos conjuntos urbanos. Hoy llevo por fin después de no se cuantos años buscando, una camiseta básica blanca. Es curioso que por años solo tuviese una negra y la verdad es que me ha sido muy difícil encontrar una blanca. Primero porque soy partidaria de que en especial los básicos, esas prendas que usamos con mucha frecuencia tienen que ser de la mejor calidad. Luego porque me gustan las camisetas básicas cortas en el tronco. No rollo crop-top pero si lo suficientemente corta para llevarlas fuera de los vaqueros o dentro sin que abulten mucho. Cuando las camisetas son largas de tronco al meterlas dentro del pantalón se forma una especie de bolsa horrible y super incomoda y es eso lo que he querido evitar. Pues bien, ha costado, pero finalmente he encontrado una en mi talla en la que ha valido la pena invertir, y la verdad estoy encantada. Por fin tacho de la lista otra prenda esencial! He combinado la camiseta con mis vaqueros Levi’s cortados y mis bailarinas de Chanel que hace tiempo que no usaba pero con estas temperaturas tan altas no apetece mucho llevar zapatos cerrados.

As you know, up north summer is really unstable, sometimes days resemble spring with a lot of rain and clouded skies. This day was just like that, it was clouded with some rain so all my summer clothes stayed in the suitcase and I had to pull some of my in between weather garments. Of course every time we come I am prepared for any weather, and it was not a problem to find the appropriate clothes. I decided to go with a midi skirt, with a silk shirt and some slippers.

Como sabéis el verano del norte es muy distinto a el de Madrid y se caracteriza por su inestabilidad. Hay días que parecen mas primavera que otra cosa, con largas lluvias y cielos cubiertos, pues bien este día fue así. Como se que esto puede pasar siempre voy preparada con ropa de entretiempo y no tuve problemas en encontrar el conjunto adecuado. En este caso me decidí por una falda midi con camisa militar de seda y slippers.
