We’ve been back to having awesome weather once again so while I transition into fall I keep some of my favorite summer elements and mix them with my fall essentials. This outfit is just the case. I am wearing one of my favorite sandals with an otherwise very in between seasons outfit.
The skirt I am wearing is a very good example of a perfect transition garment. I am usually a mini skirt girl, and the mini skirt boots combo would work just as fine as an alternative to midi skirt sandals or flats combo, but 1. I am finding harder and harder to find nice skirts that actually look mini on me, and 2. I am feeling the longer length much more. I don’t why but I find them more fun, less evident and easier to wear in between seasons. A mini skirt and sandals screams summer, but longer skirts, specially in thicker material do not. The best part is you can find this type of length in all the shapes, colors prints and textures imaginable. I remember some years ago when people used to talk about a midi trend, thats over, it is now a classic. Same thing that happened with skinny or boyfriend jeans, white sneakers, etc. They are comfortable and easy to wear so they remain. Now the best part is with some tights and a pair of boots and you can take this skirt into winter, take out the tights and add some flats, and it will make it to spring. Now a garment you can wear three out of four seasons is a good investment in my opinion so my advice is to get one of these skirt, you will love them forever!

El buen tiempo ha vuelto una vez mas así que mientras el tiempo me lo permite hago la transición al otoño mezclando algunos de mis elementos favoritos de verano con mis básicos de otoño. Este conjunto es un ejemplo.
La falda que llevo es lo que podría llamarse una prenda de transición. Usualmente uso mas faldas cortas y realmente para el entretiempo una mini falda con botas es una opción igual de buena a una falda mas larga con zapato o sandalias. Pero 1. me esta costando cada vez mas encontrar faldas cortas que me gusten y me queden como se supone que tienen que quedar y 2. me identifico cada vez mas con algo mas largo. No sé porqué pero veo a las faldas midi mas divertidas, menos evidentes y mas fáciles de usar en entretiempo. Una falda corta y sandalias grita verano, pero una falda midi con sandalias especialmente si es un poco mas gruesa podría ser de cualquier estación. Lo mejor de estas faldas es que como son un clásico podemos encontrarlas en todas las formas, colores, estampados y materiales. Recuerdo unos años atrás cuando se hablaba de la tendencia de las faldas midi, pues bien, esa supuesta “tendencia” hace bastante que ha pasado y las faldas midi siguen aquí mas presentes que nunca. Lo mismo que pasó con los pantalones pitillo o de estilo boyfriend, de hablaba de una tendencia pero se transformaron en un clásico. En mi opinion nada cómodo, práctico y fácil de llevar va ser jamás una tendencia, porque nadie va a querer dejar de llevarlos, este tipo de prendas solo tienen un destino y es ser clásicos para siempre. La mejor parte de todo esto ya no solo es que su diseño sea clásico pero la longevidad de estas prendas es abismal, pasas de llevarlas con sandalias a ponerle medias y unas botas y tenemos un conjunto perfecto para el invierno, vuelve la primavera sacamos unas bailarinas y ya podemos usarlas otra vez! Una prenda que puede llevarse tres estaciones de cuatro en mi opinion es una buenísima inversión así que mi consejo es comprar una de estas la usareis por siempre!

Of course one of my favorite shows this season is Celine. Phoebe Philo has been doing minimal Celine for years, and of course this season we were all expecting more of the same. In this collection I am drawn once again to the ugly but attractive footwear. Ugly because it is ugly, shapeless reminds me of amebas but on other hand they are extremely attractive because they exude comfort and theres is nothing more attractive than someone feeling comfortable in whatever it is that they are wearing. This reminds me of the furry Birkenstock version Celine introduced for spring/summer 2013 collection. Will this shapeless footwear have the same effect? Probably. It is less shocking and less cutting edge.

Era de esperar que una de mis colecciones favoritas para la próxima temporada fuera Celine. Phoebe Philo lleva haciendo de lo minimalista su identidad hace años, y por supuesto todos esperábamos mas de lo mismo. En esta colección lo que mas me llama la atención es el calzado feo pero a la vez atractivo. Feo porque realmente no tienen forma y personalmente me evoca a una ameba, pero atractivo porque nada mas verlo piensas: que cómodo por favor!!! Y no hay nada mas atractivo que alguien que va cómodo lleve la ropa que lleve. Esto me recuerda a las Birkenstock peludas de la colección primavera/verano 2013. Tendrá este calzado amorfo el mismo efecto? Probablemente sí, pero no creo que llegue a esos niveles, es menos llamativo y menos innovador.
So I had been needing a new pair of sunglasses for a while, I was bored with my three classic options (plus a very special pair in gingham I hardly use). I wanted a still classic design, but in tortoiseshell frames. I did have a few options on my wishlist, but this one made it to number one. The reasons? Quality, classic design, and most of all the actual design of the tortoiseshell print. I know there are thousands of options available, but I have a very sharp eye, and this particular variant of the print, stole my heart.
I had never tried on this design, we have no Celine stores in Spain just yet and we don’t have any optics that carry the brand and if they do they carry two or three design tops, and never this one. In fact only place I have ever managed to try on Celine sunglasses is in L.A. Even in Paris, Celine stores are always low on sunglasses stock so it’s a real problem finding a particular design, specially if its not a new one. In L.A I only managed to try on the original and the “Traveller” but they did not have this one. My only reference was the internet and still it was pretty hard to figure out if they would look good on me, since i don’t know why websites feature sunglasses, with no models. How is one supposed to get and idea of it? I even had to go through Instagram searching for #celinesunglasses, and believe it or not it became my best source. Luckily I found pictures of people wearing them and I decided to go for it.
I don’t know for how long the “Tailor” has been around, but I would say at least 5 years. It’s one of the most classic designs of Celine sunglasses together with the “Audrey” (which I don’t fancy very much) and it has a lot of color options. Unfortunately this particular one, was awfully hard to find. But of course finding garments online is my thing, and I eventually did, and I am so happy with my purchase. It is a very classic, neutral design that I would almost assure you, suits almost every type of face.

Llevaba necesitando unas gafas nuevas, hace un montón de tiempo, la verdad estaba un poco cansada de no tener muchas opciones. Tenía en mente un diseño clásico de carey y aunque tenía varias en mi pre selección al final me decante por estas. Las razones? La calidad es estupenda, el diseño clásico y neutro pero el toque especial lo añade el marco de carey con un estampado precioso, bastante mas atractivo que la mayoría.
Nunca tuve la oportunidad de probarme este modelo en particular así que fue una compra a ojos cerrados, lamentable aun no hay tiendas de Celine en España y las pocas ópticas que tiene artículos de la marca no suelen tener variedad. Por extraño que parezca el único sitio en el que he podido probarme gafas de Celine ha sido en Los Angeles. Ni si quiera en Paris con tantas tiendas fue posible, ya sabéis lo difícil que es encontrar stock de lo que sea en las tiendas de allí, el stock vuela, mas si se trata de diseños mas antiguos. En L.A solo logré probarme los “Large Original” y el modelo “Traveler” pero mi modelo favorito no lo tenían. Mi única referencia fue internet y aún así es bastante difícil hacerse una idea de como sientan, si solo ves fotos de las gafas sin modelo! No entiendo porqué las tiendas hacen eso, ponen la foto de las gafas en varios ángulos pero sin modelo. Al final mi última opción fue buscar en Instagram con el hashtag #celinesunglasses y a partir de ahí ir buscando fotos de gente que las llevase puestas. Por supuesta habían bastantes, así que decidí arriesgarme y las pedí!
No se hace cuanto tiempo salieran las “Tailor” a la venta probablemente unos 5 años o más, junto con las Audrey son las gafas más antiguas y clásicas de Celine. Eso se traduce a que hay mas opciones de colores, aunque este diseño de carey en particular fue bastante difícil de encontrar. Pero como encontrar artículos específicos online es lo mío, acabé dando con ellas y ahora estoy encantada! Es un diseño súper clásico que casi me atrevo a garantizar le sienta bien a cualquier tipo de cara.

I bet you never thought I would wear something pink, or even close to pink, and honestly I wouldn’t, this is I can assure you: an exception. Of all the colors in the rainbow pink and maybe orange are my least favorite, in other words I don’t like them at all. It doesn’t help how bad I look in them. I also have this thing with pink that I find it looks tacky on blondes, however even if I don’t like the color I do think it looks great in brunettes. I think it’s because it reminds me of Barbie, Paris Hilton and Jersey Shore, all synonyms of tackiness to the biggest extent.
Any how, this beautiful dress, was a gift I chose when I was given to choose between a few. It caught my attention because the subtle way pink shows in the gorgeous flower print, the navy mixed up sort of opaques the color make the dress sweet and sober. I don’t wear it much, but when I do it’s always mixed with flat footwear and dark colors. To me it works out this way.

Apuesto a que no se os ocurriría pensar que yo podría usar algo rosa, y la verdad es que no lo haría, os puedo asegurar que esto es una excepción. De todos los colores existentes el rosa y probablemente el naranja son los que menos me atraen o en otras palabras no me gustan nada. No ayuda lo mal que me sientan. También tengo este tema con el rosa que me parece bastante vulgar en rubias pero aunque no me gusta el color me parece que sienta estupendamente a morenas. Debe ser por el hecho que lo asocio a Barbie, Paris Hilton y Jersey Shore todas cosas sinónimos de la máxima vulgaridad existente.
De cualquier modo este precioso vestido fue un regalo, que escogí entre algunas opciones. Llamó mi atención la forma sutil en que el rosa se ve entre el estampado floral, el azul navy en la mezcla opaca el rosa y lo hace parecer dulce y sobrio. No lo uso mucho la verdad, pero cuando lo hago lo suelo combinar con calzado plano y colores oscuros, es mi forma de interpretar esta prenda.
