FALL 2014: OUTFIT 16

Today I am wearing a classic fall outfit with all its iconic elements. First the Fair Isle sweater screams late fall, early winter, duffle coat as well, and of course the socks-ankle boots combination. I am so fond of this latter one. As you can see I am still doing bare legs, that is so typical me it comes from when I was a kid, most of my classmates went to school with tights and some few did socks with their uniform all year round. I was of the second group. I hated tights as a little girl I found them so uncomfortable I couldn’t do them until I was an early teen and so far even though I do wear them I try to avoid them as much as possible. Since I am pretty numb in my legs I don’t really need them until winter so I still have a few weeks happily mastering the art of “bare legging”.

This is the first outfit post I do with these booties I got last year around this same time with my friend Omar, I love them so much they are the Patti boots by Saint Laurent named after Patti Smith. The moment they came out I knew I had to have them this is the classic lace up ankle boot style that never ever goes out of style, a great investment for years and years to come.

It’s getting so so cold that honestly I can’t help but want to wear thick cozy sweaters everyday, so today is completely inspired but that feeling. I made a selection of my favorite classic pieces for fall/winter to keep you warm and looking wonderful! In my opinion all of these beauties would make an awesome investment. Hopefully some will end up in my closet!

Something New: Saint Laurent 3 Clous Bracelet

Saint Laurent leather silver bracelet Trini blog

Some people think I don’t accessorize. Actually I do, well i’ve wanted to for the longest time. The thing is I have been investing in other areas of my wardrobe not really giving accessories the relevance I should.

Also I hadn’t found items I really wanted to invest on, until recently. Honestly I had my eyes set on Hermes, they make the most gorgeous bracelets but on a unexpected trip to Saint Laurent I kind of fell in love with their jewelry line too. Last month while in Stockholm shopping the Midsummer sales with my friend I ran into this item at 50% off, something that shouldn’t been happening since this is really a permanent collection bracelet. Now those things happen with retailers, and it’s better for us customers to encounter bargains not supposed to happen, so I kind of had to have it right away.

What I love most about this bracelet is it has a sort of resemblance to the Hermes “Medor” watch (smallest size) and that is my dream accessory (no longer in production). I like the subtle little touch of “tough” in an outfit, specially when given by an accessory, so soft you can barely notice, to me that reaches true perfection.

Bracelet by Saint Laurent, and you can get this bracelet HERE.

Saint Laurent Paris Patti ankle boots

New In: this gorgeous pair of Saint Laurent Paris Patti booties. This particular model is inspired in Patti Smith, and I am a huge fan of hers and her style.

I debated a lot if I should get them or not, there are several similar pairs out there for a cheaper price, but all of them had a detail I did’t like. Ugly clasps, too low or to high in the ankle area, etc. So instead of settling for the almost perfect I just went for the ones I really loved. To me this are the perfect pair of lace ankle boots and I know I will wear them a lot for years to come. The fabulousness of a classic style.
This pair of booties again like everything I seem to want these days are very hard to come by specially if you have a medium size. So…if you are interested in getting them I am leaving you with a few options just in case your size is sold out.
Matches Fashion (only small sizes)
Saks (only the smallest size)
Barney’s (this is a slightly different model but has all medium sizes available)
