Last outfit from my trip to Chile (and last of the year). I am now back in Madrid and will be heading to the mountains tomorrow, to spend the last and first days of the new year. I am thrilled to be back home, winter is beautiful and I am ready to enjoy it!
This outfit is what I wore for Christmas Eve. Since I was doing a lot of help in the kitchen and due to the heat in Santiago I decided to go for slides with my slip-on dress. Not the usual heels, but something different and comfortable.

Ultimo conjunto de mi viaje a Chile ( y último de este año). Me encuentro de vuelta en Madrid, pero mañana me voy a pasar fin de año a la montaña. Estoy encantada de estar en casa otra vez, el invierno tiene lo suyo y estoy con ganas de disfrutarlo!
Este conjunto es de antes de la cena de Nochebuena. Como debía ayudar en la cocina y con todo el calor de aquel día decidí combinar mi vestido de tirantes con sandalias planas en vez de tacones, algo diferente y cómodo.

Comfort during hot days is crucial! I don’t know why I can take heels and fancy outfits much more during cold days, but when the heat arrives I’m all for comfort and nothing else, so today I wore relaxed dark jeans and a basic masculine shirt with my leopard slides. I love how comfortable my outfit is, perfect for running errands during the day. The best part is actually wearing animal print in a way that I truly enjoy, because for a lot of years it was something I would run away from, but after some time I have been able to really embrace it. I believe in small dosis of animal print and so far it has worked great for me.

La comodidad en dias de calor es primordial! No sé porque llevo mucho mejor el ir en tacones en invierno que en verano, pero cuando llega el calor en lo único que pienso es en la comodidad, así que hoy voy de lo mas relajada con unos vaqueros rectos, camisa de estilo masculino y sandalias planas. Lo mejor de este conjunto es como he podido olvidarme de mi miedo al animal print y ahora lo llevo encantada, eso sí en pequeñas dosis!

A type of shoes I am so digging as of a couple of years are slides, they are as comfortable as it can get, and when it comes to heels mules are the comfiest. Mules technically are slides with heels so it’s pretty much the same, it just depends on the height. The number one comfort characteristic from this type of shoes I believe comes from not having talon support, which lets face it, sometimes is a real pain in the ass, mules they are just free shoes.
When in L.A I fell in love with Marlow, the mules at J.Crew. I was unsure about them at first but after a while I decided to go for them as my first pair of mules, try out how I feel in them and if they turned out just fine, then I would go big, for a more sophisticated pair. Turns out, they are awesome, extremely comfortable and easy to wear. The quality is much better than I expected, in fact I would dare say it’s much better than some contemporary luxury brands, and trust me, when talking about shoes, I know what I am talking about. My collection is quite big and has at least one pair of almost every luxury and semi-luxury brand you can name. So…if in doubt…go for them! What are you waiting for? They are almost sold out!

Un tipo de zapatos que me lleva enamorando desde hace unos cuantos años son las sandalias tipo “slide”, es decir que no llevan sujeción en el talón. Cuando hablamos de tacones hablamos de “mules” que es exactamente el mismo sistema solo que con tacón. Pues bien, la característica mas importante de estos zapatos o al menos la que yo mas destaco es la comodidad, muchas veces nos causan molestias algunos zapatos en la zona del talón así que con talón libre, nos libramos de inconvenientes, completa libertad!
En L.A me enamoré de estos zapatos. No sabía que tal sería usar este tipo de tacones ya que nunca había tenido unos así que después de barajar unas cuantas alternativas me decanté por estos, empezar por una opción mas simple y accesible antes de ir subiendo de categoría. Acabé por reparar en que son un tipo de zapato estupendo, muy cómodo, versátiles y de mucha mejor calidad de la que esperaba, de hecho debo decir que su calidad es bastante mejor que las de muchas marcas de semi-lujo contemporáneas y la verdad si digo esto, es porque he probado en zapatos prácticamente la mayoría de las marcas existentes en este rango. Así que si estáis en la duda, os animo a decidiros, ir a por ellos!

Back in Madrid, but only for a week! This year has been crazy so far, I live in planes and will continue to do so for a while. My jet lag is crazy, but strangely enough it is not worth adjusting to Eastern Hemisphere time when I have to go back west.
Anyhow, I am wearing my new gorgeous skirt I got in L.A. I’m not a big fan of striped bottoms, but this one is just amazing. I am crazy in love with this piece, it’s a nice print in a classic piece, very easy to pull off, and I can see it transitioning amazingly into fall.

De vuelta en Madrid, pero solo por una semana! Este año esta siendo muy movido, vivo viajando y todos son vuelos transoceánicos así que os haréis una idea del jet lag que puedo llegar a tener. Lo peor es que no me merece la pena volver al horario europeo cuando tengo que volver al hemisferio oeste.
Sobre el conjunto de hoy, llevo mi falda nueva que compré en L.A. Aunque no soy muy fan de las partes inferiores estampadas, esta si que me enamoró. Es un estampado sobrio en una prenda clásica y versátil muy fácil de usar, y lo mejor es una prenda ideal, para seguir usando en verano y aun más en otoño.
