A cream on white outfit. This is my way of transitioning my summer skirt into fall. I wore it with different sleeveless tops or short sleeve t-shirts during the warmer months but now I wear it with sweaters and it works just as fine. Today I paired it with my Gucci slippers and Saint Laurent Lulu bag.

Hoy llevo un conjunto monocromático blanco/crema. Esta es mi forma de hacer la transición de mi falda de verano a otoño. La idea es alargarle la vida y seguir usándola durante el otoño. Hace unos meses la llevaba con tops o camisetas sin mangas, pero ahora con este tiempo, la llevo con jerséis. La verdad va de maravilla de las dos formas y me encanta la superposición de texturas.

The beginning of spring is always tricky. We are dying to get rid of all those extra layers of clothing, and it’s not all that simple. I believe it or not, I am still holding on dearly to most of my winter items. The only layer I gave up on is tights. For me it’s 100% bare legs weather, and so I start transitioning into spring in a midi skirt and turtleneck outfit.
This turtleneck I got last fall (you can see it in a previous outfit here) has been my go to knitwear this season, and is still a great alternative if I don’t feel like wearing a coat now that the weather allows it (I have been wearing it with a coat all winter though). I paired it with this midi skirt I got a few months ago, an ideal piece to transition in my opinion since there is not much skin exposed. To finish my favorite shoes of the moment my Stella McCartney Binx loafers.

El comienzo de la primavera suele ser un tanto complicado. Estamos deseando deshacernos de algunas prendas o capas de ropa pero no siempre es simple. Al contrario que en años anteriores aun me esta costando dejar en el armario la mayoría de mis prendas invernales. Lo único de lo que me he despedido encantada de la vida es de las medias. Para mi ya estamos en época de ir sin ellas así que comienzo mi transición a la primavera con un conjunto de falda midi y jersey de cuello vuelto.
Este jersey de cuello vuelto que compré el otoño pasado ha sido de mis mas socorridos este invierno y sigue siendo una estupenda alternativa ahora que el tiempo esta mejorando y no siempre hace falta llevar abrigo. Lo combiné una falda midi que compré hace unos meses, me parece que este tipo de faldas son ideales para entretiempo ya que no se expone mucha piel. Para acabar mis zapatos favoritos del momento el modelo Binx de Stella McCartney.

Today I’m wearing a flared pair of jeans I cut myself to get the cropped look. I did this before a couple of years ago with another pair of jeans just before this style became a trend, just to test the waters and honestly I had great results. This past year it has become a big thing and brand already sell jeans in this style which I find great, but let’s not forget for a lot of us it is not just a trend it is something useful with a reason behind it. My reason is to crop pants. I find I like my trousers better when they are short and show a little bit of ankle. In my opinion it suits me better than longer pants though I do won both, but at the end I gravitate more towards a shorter style. Sooo I bought this jeans on sale a while ago to try the flared style and though I do think it is a great alternative to skinny or slim I was a little uneasy with the hem of my pants touching the floor, I just don’t know if I can live with that idea, and yes I could have them professionally altered but since this is a very affordable pair, they were the perfect pair for experimenting. I like the idea of a different take on flared jeans, cropped and ripped, in a way it still looks austere. My experimentation worked perfectly I got exactly what I was looking for and all it took was a pair of scissors.
I matched my jeans with one of my favorite, everlasting winter jumpers and my new pair of platform shoes I got in Milan. To keep the warmth in winter a good coat always does the trick and today I picked my basic black coat.

Hoy llevo un par de vaqueros que decidí cortar yo misma para lograr el estilo tobillero que tanto me gusta. Ya corte un par yo misma hace año y pico y la verdad que me encanto el resultado. Aunque lo hice un pelín antes de que llegase el boom de la tendencia la idea era conseguir un estilo diferente a todos mis demás vaqueros y con estos la idea es la misma. Quise probar el estilo acampanado pero la idea de que mis pantalones rocen el suelo no me gusta para nada así que decidí cortarlos de forma que queden tobilleros un estilo que a mi personalmente me gusta mucho. Al final el resultado me ha encantado, quería lograr un par de vaqueros simples y austeros pero acampanados y cortos y siento que lo he conseguido, experimente con un par de vaqueros bastante accesibles por si algo iba mal y la verdad me alegro de no haberme lanzado con unos mas especiales, lo mejor de todo es que solo necesite un par de tijeras de tela y ya!
Los combine con uno de mis jerseys de invierno favoritos y de los mas duraderos que tengo, mis zapatos de plataformas nuevas que compré en Milán y para el frío nada mejor que mi abrigo básico negro.

The more I use this jeans the more I love them, and the more I dig my idea of cutting them by myself in a way that the hem is now frayed. Re-inventing and old piece has to be one of my favorite things in clothes and one of my favorite assets of classic designs. Never in my life had it crossed my mind I would be able to recycle a pair of Topshop jeans from nine years ago. To their defense I have to say the quality is not as bad as their current clothes, so that helped a lot to make this a piece that could make it after so many years, and the fact that there was a nine year gap between the last time I used them, and the moment they re-appeared. So…there are factors to take into consideration. Could this happen with clothes bought today at the same store? Probably not. My sister has a pair of jeans from two years ago and already they are in pretty bad shape. (I am sorry if I offend anyone with what I am saying here, that is not what I intend to, but the truth with quality is the truth).
I paired them with this old Sandro top I have worn very little in the past couple of years I’ve had it, so it’s like new and could easily fit in a current collection (thing with good designs). Together they make the perfect combination for mild in between seasons weather.

Cuanto mas uso estos vaqueros mas me gustan y mas me alegro de haber tenido la genial idea de cortarlos en el tobillo de modo que quedasen naturalmente deshechos. Re-inventar prendas viejas tiene que ser de las cosas mas divertidas que se pueden hacer con la ropa, y una de las cualidades mas importantes en los diseños clásicos. Nunca en mi vida me hubiese imaginado que sería capaz de reciclar unos vaqueros Topshop de hace nueve años. A su defensa debo decir que la calidad de entonces no era la que es hoy, así que esto ayudó bastante a hacer de esta una prenda que sobreviviese tanto tiempo, y claro esta el hecho de que hubiese un espacio de nueve años sin que esta prenda se usase. Podría pasar esto mismo nueve años a partir de hoy? Lo veo difícil, mi hermana tiene un par de hace unos años y la verdad con uso medio no esta en muy buenas condiciones. ( No es mi intención ofender a nadie con esta afirmación pero la realidad de las calidades sobre todo en las firmas masivas, es lo que es, nos guste o no).
Combiné mis vaqueros viejos con este top de hace unos años de Sandro, que la verdad no he usado mucho, su diseño neutro y clásico hace que fácilmente se adapte al día de hoy (carácteristica de los buenos diseños). Juntos hacen una combinación ideal para un día cálido de entretiempo.
