Today I am wearing this fabulous dress by Wolford. I have been shopping Wolford tights for years, because they offer the best quality by far, but I had never tried their clothes, so when this collaboration opportunity came up, I was more than thrilled! As you know I hardly do any collaborations because I am extremely picky with brands I wear, and the same goes for brands I collaborate with. I would never want to be linked to a brand or garment I would not buy myself. So…this said…I am finally getting the chance to show you an amazing garment from an amazing brand.
This dress I’m wearing is called Fatal (you can purchase it directly from the link under) and it has to be the most amazing dress I have ever owned. Why? Well because it has endless ways of wearing it. It can be transformed into a midi dress, a mini dress, a midi skirt a mini skirt…so possibilities are endless! It comes in an amazing range of all dark colors, and of course the best part is all the options of wearing it, they are all classic and timeless, so this is as far from trendy as you will ever go, and that adds thousands of points in my book.
Now for my first time wearing it I thought well heels are the most obvious choice, but you know what? I don’t feel like showing you the most obvious choice, I want to show the most casual, summery but still classic way of wearing it. So I paired it with flat sandals and a tote bag. Of course you will get to see more of me in this dress, so I will show you more ways of wearing it in the future. I am now going crazy wanting all the colors, because honestly I feel this is one of the best investments one can make, you get more than five garments, all for the price of one.

Hoy llevo mi nuevo vestido favorito de Wolford. Llevo comprando medias en Wolford desde hace años porque la verdad tienen la mejor calidad pero nunca había probado sus prendas de vestir así que cuando me surgió la oportunidad de hacer esta colaboración me tomo un segundo decidir que quería hacerla. Como sabéis hago muy pocas colaboraciones ya que soy muy exigente en cuanto a la ropa que uso y lo mismo pasa cuando hay que colaborar con marcas. No voy a trabajar con ropa que no compraría yo misma, pero finalmente tengo la oportunidad de representar algo que realmente encaja con los valores que promuevo.
Este vestido es el modelo Fatal (podéis acceder a el a través del enlace que se encuentra mas abajo) y es sin duda el vestido mas especial que tengo. Porque? Bueno, porque tiene mil formas de usarse y no me refiero a las infinitas posibilidades de combinarlo, este vestido se transforma en varias prendas a la vez. Puede ser un vestido maxi, midi y mini, así como una falda maxi, midi y mini también. Esta disponible en una paleta estupenda de colores, todos sobrios y neutros y lo mejor a mi parecer es que todas las transformaciones que permite resultan en diseños clásicos y a-temporales, así que este vestido es lo mas alejado a lo trendy que puede haber y lo mas clásico a lo que se podría acceder.
Ahora bien, para la primera vez que lo uso pensé en combinarlo con tacones pero la verdad es que me parece la opción mas predecible también y me apetecía llevarlo de una forma mas veraniega y casual, así que decidí combinarlo con sandalias planas y un bolso estilo tote. Por supuesto veréis mucho mas de este vestido así que os iré mostrando poco a poco mas formas de usarlo. La verdad me parece tal el descubrimiento con esta prenda, que ya estoy deseando tenerlo en mas colores, de todas las prendas en la que invertir este verano esta me parece la mejor opción ya que es varias prendas en uno, eso resulta en un ahorro de tiempo y dinero, la verdad no se me ocurre nada mejor.

A black day. Yes, all black summer outfits rock! They are by far the best option, (specially for pale skin people) I bet some of you didn’t know why. This I saw on the news yesterday, here in Santiago, but I was also taught this in my textiles class at uni.
We all know how in summer sun is a real threat for our skin. Too much sun exposure can cause premature aging to start with an a whole serious of diseases. Dark clothing such as charcoal, navy and the darkest of them all black absorb UV rays and therefore have a hard time penetrating your skin causing damage. Light colored clothing such as white and pastel colors go through your clothing and reach your skin quite easy producing damage that you can’t really see, but with time will show. Light-skinned people (such as myself) have more risk of being damaged by UV radiation, something I have struggled with my whole life, one more reason for not loving summer. So bottom line is? Think again before you buy too many white clothing for summer, specially if you have pale skin, black is a better option.

Un día de negro. Si, los conjuntos negros para verano molan más y ahora compartiré el porque. Imagino que no todos estaréis al tanto de esto, aunque bien es de bastante sentido común no a todo el mundo le interesa. Lo vi ayer por la televisión aquí en Santiago, pero también me lo enseñaron en mi asignatura de tejidos en la universidad.
Todos sabemos como el sol especialmente en verano es dañino para nuestra piel. Estar muy expuestos al sol causa envejecimiento prematuro y un sin fin de enfermedades a la piel. La ropa oscura como gris, navy y negro absorben los rayos UVA y de esa forma hacen mas difícil que penetren nuestra piel. La ropa en colores claros como el blanco o los pasteles hace que los rayos UVA atraviesen nuestra ropa y penetren la piel con facilidad causando daños que son invisibles por mucho tiempo pero acaban por manifestarse. Las personas con tonos de piel claros (como es mi caso) tienen mayor riesgo a los daños de los rayos UVA, algo con lo que he batallado toda mi vida, una razón más por la que no me gusta el verano. A lo que quiero llegar es? Pensar bien antes de darlo todo con el color blanco en verano, especialmente aquellos individuos de piel pálida, ya que sin duda el negro es una mejor opción.

I just arrived at Santiago,Chile so now i’m in summer late spring. Weather is terribly hot, nothing like back home but what can I say, I am happy to not be in the cold!
Of course being on holidays does not mean I will not be working or updating my blog, on the contrary I will be focusing my holidays on showing you around where I am at, what I am wearing and what my location has to offer fashion wise!
I do however have these pictures I took last weekend back home. I think I have another outfit from a few weeks back and after that it will be summer pictures for a while. Of course no matter the season, no matter the place the important thing is to focus on classic, austere fashion WORLDWIDE.

Acabo de llegar a Santiago de Chile lo que significa que ahora estoy en verano finales de primavera. Hace un calor terrible, nada que ver con el tiempo en Madrid y que os puedo decir, estoy encantada de dejar atrás el frío por un tiempo.
Por supuesto estar fuera de casa no significa que este de vacaciones y que deje de trabajar o de actualizar el blog, al contrario! Llevo mi trabajo conmigo y el blog también. Estas semanas que este fuera voy a enfocar el contenido a mostraros un poco de donde estoy, lo que llevo y que tiene el lugar donde estoy para ofrecernos en términos de moda.
Tengo sin embargo, estas fotos del fin de semana pasado para enseñaros, y creo que tengo algún otro conjunto de un par de semanas atrás pero a partir de entonces sera ropa de verano. Al final no creo que importe el clima o el lugar donde este, lo importante es que seguiré transmitiendo sobre moda clásica y sobria solo que en modo viajera.

Today I am wearing something very new and something very old. My slip on ecru sneakers are new, and I’m wearing them for the first time…but my bag is one of my oldest bags (that I still keep/wear). I got it almost five years ago online ,and I wore it to death for a long time. I still wear it but not that often, I still keep it though because I love it so much. The design is fantastic very comfortable to wear handheld or handsfree, being black of course it is as versatile as it gets, and the lovely round studs add a nice tougher touch, but not in a loud, out there way like some other bags with studs are. It does fit a lot too, so that is a big plus!
As you can see I am taking the tights free thing to the max, if you follow me from long ago you know how I can go on like this to winter easily, if you are fairly new here, you’ll probably see that in the next few months. And once again i’m doing a little layering wearing my dress as a skirt this time, making the most of it and its versatile design!

Hoy llevo algo muy nuevo y algo muy viejo. Mis zapatillas son nuevas, de hecho es la primera vez que las uso, pero mi bolso es bastante antiguo, es de los mas veteranos de mi colección. Lo compre hace casi cinco años y la verdad es que lo he usado muchísimo. Aún lo uso pero ya no tanto como antes, aun así lo conservo ya que me sigue encantando. El diseño me parece fantástico es muy cómodo de llevar ya sea en la mano o cruzado y el hecho de ser negro por supuesto lo hace muy fácil de combinar. Tiene unos detalles en color plata que le aportan un toque diferente pero sutil, a diferencia de muchos bolsos que con este tipo de añadidos resultan muy llamativos y estridentes. Un plus por supuesto es su tamaño, me encanta poder llevar todo lo que necesito y algo más.
Como podéis ver sigo sin llevar medias, siempre intento aguantar lo mas posible sin ellas, un poco que ver con la comodidad y también porque me gusta mucho como queda, especialmente cuando no es una opción evidente (como en verano). De ser seguidoras “antiguas” sabréis que puedo alargar el ir sin medias hasta invierno tranquilamente, de hecho creo que es una de las cosas en el vestir que me caracteriza, si no lo sois en unos meses lo veréis.
Por último añadir que una vez me he decantado por las capas, a simple vista mi conjunto parece una falda con un jersey, pero realmente es un vestido. Así puedo sacar el máximo partido a mis prendas de verano y darles una vida útil mas larga.
